Enzo Maresca has been given a one-match touchline ban after being sent off during Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Liverpool before the international break.
Maresca received two yellow cards at Stamford Bridge, first being cautioned for dissent. The Italian was then sent off after leaving his technical area to join in the celebrations, following Estevao Willian’s 95th-minute winner against the Premier League champions.
The FA have deemed Maresca ‘acted in an improper manner’ and he will now be missing from the touchline for Chelsea’s trip to Nottingham Forest this weekend. Maresca has also been fined £8,000 and has accepted his punishment.
“It was alleged that the manager acted in an improper manner and/or used abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour during the fixture, which led to his dismissal around the 96th minute,” the Football Association said in a statement.
