Who have been the Premier League’s best when it comes to aerial battles this season? We’ve looked at the five player with the most aerial duels won in 2025/26.

After a frustrating campaign last term, Rodrigo Muniz looks to have nailed down Fulham’s centre-forward position this time around. The big Brazilian has started four of the club’s five games and ranks joint-fifth in the league for aerial duels won.
=5. Ibrahima Konate – Liverpool (19)
Ibrahima Konate has also won 19 aerial duels this season with the Liverpool centre-back a commanding presence in the air. The Frenchman’s 79% success rate is also the second-highest of any player to contest 20 aerial duels.
4. Dan Burn – Newcastle (20)
Standing at a huge 6ft 7in certainly helps when it comes to battling in the air. Dan Burn is one of just four players to reach 20 aerial duels won after five games this season. The Newcastle defender is hoping his form – which has helped the Magpies to four clean sheets – can secure his place in England’s World Cup squad.

=2. Tyrone Mings – Aston Villa (21)
Aston Villa have been struggling for goals at one end of the pitch but Tyrone Mings has already ensured some solidity at the other. The 32-year-old’s 21 aerial duels won this season are bettered by just one Premier League player.
=2. Beto – Everton (21)
Beto has had plenty of critics at Everton, with the forward a frustrating watch at times. He’s done his best to provide a presence for David Moyes, however, winning 21 aerial battles.
1. Virgil van Dijk (28)
Virgil van Dijk leads the way with the Dutch man mountain starting the season in fine form. Van Dijk has won seven more aerial duels than any other player, while his 80% success rate is the highest of any player to contest 20+. Even at 34, he remains the benchmark for Premier League defenders.
