Bayern Munich cast doubt on permanent deal for Chelsea striker Jackson

Former Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeneß has revealed the details of Nicolas Jackson’s loan move from Chelsea and has cast doubt on a permanent deal.

Jackson joined Bayern Munich on loan from Chelsea on deadline day, for a €15m (£13m) loan fee and a £70m option to make the move permanent.

The German champions sought the signing of Jackson as Vincent Kompany looked to add competition and cover for Harry Kane at the Allianz Arena.

The Senegalese striker scored 30 goals in 81 games over his two seasons at Chelsea, but was keen to leave this summer after the signings of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.

Hoeneß has revealed that Jackson was so keen to move to Bayern, that the player and his agent contributed €3m towards the loan fee.

He also said the permanent move ‘will never happen’ under the current arrangement, with Jackson required to start 40 games for Bayern Munich this season to activate the clause.

“The player and his agent contribute for €3m, so we pay €13.5m loan fee,” Hoeneß told Sport1 Dopa.

“There will definitely not be a permanent contract. That only happens if he plays 40 games from the start, it will never happen.”
