Unai Emery’s side returned from the tour of the USA unbeaten and next take on the Italian giants in Walsall. Villa face Roma at the Bescot Stadium as Villa Park undergoes maintenance.
It’s been an unconvincing pre-season for The Villans so far, with just one win in five fixtures. Emery will be hoping his team can improve their performances ahead of their Premier League opener next weekend.

Unai Emery is expected to go with a strong side and Donyell Malen will be keen to continue his impressive pre-season form.
The Dutchman has a goal and three assists this summer, though is set to face competition for a place as Villa close in on the signing of Evan Guessand from Nice. Villa have agreed a deal in the region of £26m to sign the Ivorian forward.
Emiliano Martinez remains as the club’s goalkeeper despite transfer talk this summer, while Ollie Watkins will lead the line. The England international is a reported transfer target for Newcastle United.
