Our weekly Premier League awards honour the best – and worst – of the football action from the weekend.
Moment of the Week
All eyes were on Anfield for this weekend’s blockbuster between Liverpool and Manchester City, the final fixture in the Premier League rivalry between Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola. Just a point separated the title rivals in the table and it’s as you were after an absorbing game.
It was a game packed full of incident, which we’re unable to separate for individual recognition in our Moment of the Week award. The entire, breathless, clash was one to remember, as City took the lead through a sneaky set-piece routine, were pegged back as Ederson upended Darwin Nunez in the box, and then hung on for dear life as Liverpool searched for a winner.
There were big chances missed for Luis Diaz, a point-blank save from Stefan Ortega, Jeremy Doku and Phil Foden hitting the woodwork for Manchester City, and a contentious late penalty appeal that Jurgen Klopp said was ‘100%’ the wrong decision from the officials.
8 – The aggregate stats from the eight Premier League games between Jürgen Klopp (W4) and Pep Guardiola (W1) at Anfield (D3):

Shots: Liverpool 86 – 90 Man City

A fitting finale to the greatest managerial match-up of the modern Premier League era.
Player of the Week
Spurs sent a statement with a big win at Aston Villa, reducing the gap in the battle between the sides for Champions League football. Villa missed the chance to put real room between themselves and Spurs, with the latter putting their fate back in their own hands with a ruthless second-half performance at Villa Park.
Son Heung-min was the star as Spurs scored four times after the interval in a 4-0 win, scoring one and creating two more. The South Korean set up Brennan Johnson for the second after James Maddison’s opener, before netting the third in stoppage time with an emphatic finish for his 159th goal for the north Londoners.
There was still time for the 31-year-old to tee up substitute Timo Werner, with Son a constant threat in this side whether centrally or out wide. It’s now 22 goals and assists combined in the Premier League this season, only three players have more.
Son Heung-min has now been involved in 20+ Premier League goals in five separate seasons.

Goal of the Week
David Datro Fofana thundered Burnley into the lead at the London Stadium this weekend, as the on-loan forward thumped in an opener at West Ham.
After skipping through two challenges, the Ivorian unleashed a scorcher which rocketed past Alphonse Areola on its way into the top corner.
A special strike from the Chelsea loanee.

Save of the Week
Luton left it late once again to rescue a result as Cauley Woodrow scored his first Premier League goal for a decade to earn a draw at Crystal Palace.
The forward’s vital equaliser came after Thomas Kaminski had kept the Hatters in the game, including this point-blank stop from Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Rob Edwards’ side continue to show spirit until the very end and can climb out of the relegation places with a win at Bournemouth in midweek.

Stat of the Week
Eight wins in a row have taken Arsenal to the top of the Premier League table.
Just three teams have previously started a calendar year with eight consecutive Premier League wins. Each of them went on to win the title…
8 – Arsenal are only the fourth side to win each of their first eight Premier League games of a calendar year; the previous three all went on to win the title that year (Man Utd in 2009, Liverpool in 2020, Man City in 2021). Momentum. pic.twitter.com/jgdKDbORAb
