The five football fixtures you must watch this weekend, including El Clásico and a huge Scottish showdown in Edinburgh.
Five spicy fixtures you must watch this weekend:
Hearts vs Celtic
Hearts are aiming to achieve something not seen in Scotland since 1985 this season. Not since Aberdeen in that campaign has a side outside of the Celtic and Rangers duopoly won the title.
The Edinburgh outfit’s last title was in 1960 but Hearts have a five-point lead at the top ahead of Sunday’s blockbuster clash with champions Celtic. With home advantage and confidence coursing through them, a win would be a statement.
Only two teams outside of Celtic or Rangers have started a Scottish Premiership season better than Hearts in 2025-26 (22 points).

Feyenoord vs PSV Eindhoven
Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven go head-to-head this weekend as the Eredivisie’s top two do battle in Rotterman. First-placed Feyenoord are flying under Robin van Persie and head into this contest unbeaten, after a 7-0 win at Heracles last weekend.
PSV, champions in each of the last two seasons, can move level on points with Feyenoord with a win and head into this one after a stunning Champions League win in midweek.
There’s plenty at stake.

Aston Villa vs Manchester City
Aston Villa host Manchester City in the pick of the Premier League games this weekend. The home side have recovered from a poor start to win their last three, ahead of welcoming Pep Guardiola’s side to Villa Park.
City are unbeaten in nine with Erling Haaland in red-hot form, but have a poor recent record in this fixture. Villa are unbeaten in the last three meetings at Villa Park, while they’ve lost just one of their last 22 at home.

Napoli vs Inter Milan
Serie A is shaping up to be the best title race in Europe this season. Just a point splits the top four after seven games, with Napoli and Inter Milan mired in that title-chasing pack. Last season’s top two meet for the first time this season on Saturday, as Antonio Conte looks to get one over his old employers.
Inter have hit a fine run of form, winning seven on the bounce. Napoli, meanwhile, will need to bounce back from a 6-2 shellacking at PSV Eindhoven in midweek.

Real Madrid vs Barcelona
It’s the big one this week as Real Madrid and Barcelona battle it out in El Clasico.
No fixture in football makes the world pause quite like this one, as Spain’s superpowers trade punches. A Kylian Mbappe-inspired Real Madrid have flown out the traps this season, though Barcelona are just two points behind.

There’s little to split them, as there hasn’t been for much of a storied historical rivalry.
In 261 previous meetings, Real Madrid have recorded 105 wins to Barcelona’s 104, while there have also been 52 draws.
