World Cup 2026: Every qualified team so far

Egypt secured their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday night after a 3-0 win over Djibouti.

Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah scored twice for The Pharaohs, who have become the 19th nation to confirm their place at the tournament.

In addition to the three host nations, Canada, Mexico and the United States, a further 16 teams have booked their place at the finals. There are still 29 places to be decided with next summer’s tournament the first in an expanded 48-team format.

Egypt are the third African nation to reach the World Cup, alongside fellow North African heavyweights Morocco and Tunisia.

Europe’s qualification process is still ongoing with no teams yet assured of their place. However, England are among the sides that could confirm their participation next summer during this month’s break.

There will be tournament debuts for Jordan and Uzbekistan, who have each qualified from Asia’s process for the first time. Holders Argentina are also set to be involved after topping South America’s qualification phase.
