Premier League clubs are running out of time to conclude transfer deals before the deadline, with the window set to slam shut later this week.
Here is all you need to know about the final hours of the transfer window.
When is Transfer Deadline for Premier League clubs?
The summer transfer window opened on June 14 for Premier League clubs and will close for business on Friday August 30th, at 11pm BST. Deals can still be completed after the 11pm deadline, however, with Premier League clubs permitted a two-hour window to finalise signings, provided a deal sheet has been submitted before the deadline.
When does the transfer window close for other leagues?
In a bid to reduce disruption and ensure synchronisation, the 30th August closing date was decided following discussions with the Football League, Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga and Ligue 1. The transfer windows for each of Europe’s top five leagues and the EFL will close on the same date.
However, the Saudi Pro League could prove a big disruption to Premier League clubs. The SPL window opened later than English football (July 14th) and will not close until October 6th, meaning big-spending Saudi sides can sign Premier League players for over a month after the English deadline. The Netherlands (September 2nd) and Portugal (September 16th) also have later deadlines than Europe’s top five leagues.
Who could move before the deadline?
Deadline Day is often a busy period for transfers as clubs rush (or panic) to conclude their summer activity before the window slams shut.
Chelsea are expected to be one of the busier sides on Deadline Day as the Blues look to reduce an inflated squad. Romelu Lukaku, Armando Broja, Trevoh Chalobah, Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell are among the big names who have been informed that they can leave Stamford Bridge and each are exploring their options ahead of the transfer deadline.

Brentford forward Ivan Toney is another to watch, after being omitted from the club’s squad for their opening two fixtures of the 2024/25 Premier League campaign. The 28-year-old has entered the final season of his deal and is keen on a new challenge, with interest in the England forward from the Premier League and Saudi Arabia.
Manchester United are expected to offload Jadon Sancho, following a disappointing period for the 24-year-old at Old Trafford. There’s interest from Chelsea and Juventus in the winger.
Elsewhere, Southampton are chasing Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, Everton want to sign a defensive midfielder, and Crystal Palace are pushing to add Eddie Nketiah to their squad.
