West Ham United have added Ivan Toney to their list of transfer targets for the January transfer window.
The Al-Ahli striker has been shortlisted as a potential option as Nuno Espirito Santo seeks to add a reliable goalscorer to his ranks.
Niclas Fullkrug has struggled badly with injuries since his arrival from Borussia Dortmund in 2024, while fellow forward Callum Wilson has a questionable injury record of his own.
Toney is understood to be considering a mid-season return to England. The 29-year-old has ambitions of breaking back into the England squad for next summer’s World Cup. He believes a return to the Premier League will improve his visibility to Thomas Tuchel.
Toney has scored 38 goals in 54 games since joining Al-Ahli from Brentford, winning the AFC Champions League with the Saudi side last season.
A loan move could be arranged, due to two breaks in the Saudi Pro League calendar. However, Toney would need to push for an exit with Al-Ahli reluctant to lose him.
The England international is one of several names on West Ham’s radar, according to TEAMtalk.
Out-of-favour Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee is another option, alongside Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi. The Serie A-based trio of Pio Esposito, Mateo Pellegrino and Roberto Piccoli are other players on the list.
