West Ham are tracking Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay as the club consider replacements for Declan Rice.
McTominay is on the radar of several clubs after struggling for regular first-team football last season, with the Scotland international making just 10 Premier League starts under Erik ten Hag.
The Guardian are reporting that West Ham are considering a move to sign the 26-year-old as the club prepare for the exit of Rice, who is set to undergo a medical at Arsenal on Friday ahead of a £105m move to the Emirates.
Manchester United are open to the sale of McTominay this summer if a suitable offer arrives, with Roma and Newcastle having also been linked.
The Red Devils secured the signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea this week to increase competition in midfield and the sale of McTominay could provide funds to pursue deals for a new goalkeeper and centre-forward, with Ten Hag working on a restricted budget this summer.
West Ham are expected to sign at least two midfielders in a bid to replace the influence of Rice and David Moyes has compiled a shortlist of names. The Hammers are mulling over a loan move for Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria, which would include an option to buy for around €18m (£15.4m).
There is also strong interest in Fulham’s Joao Palhinha who is valued at around £50m, with Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse also a potential target. Southampton are interested in a deal to sign Flynn Downes from West Ham which could aid negotiations between the clubs.
Everton’s Amadou Onana, Bristol City’s Alex Scott and Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez are also under consideration at the London Stadium.
