Arsenal have finally got their man; Viktor Gyokeres will join the club in the summer transfer window.Â
The Sweden striker will join the Gunners after reaching a “full agreement” with Sporting Clube de Portugal over the deal on Friday, according to The Athletic.
Gyokeres has been granted permission to travel by the Lisbon outfit and will undergo his medical on Saturday.
A top centre-forward has long been considered the final piece of puzzle for Mikel Arteta, who has led Arsenal to three successive second-place finishes in the Premier League.
Here’s what we know about the move so far, including the transfer fee, his potential wages, shirt number and possible debut date.

Gyokeres contract length and wages
The 27-year-old will sign a five-year deal with Arsenal and earn a net salary of £7.2m per annum, according to Portuguese outlet A Bola. His weekly wages work out at about £138,000.
What shirt number will Gyokeres wear at Arsenal?
The Gunners will hand Gyokeres the number 14, the same shirt number worn by legendary striker Thierry Henry.
Possible debut date
It seems unlikely Gyokeres will play any part in Arsenal’s pre-season friendly against Newcastle United in Singapore this Sunday. It’s very possible that his first match for his new club will be a North London Derby, which will take place next Thursday, 31 July in Hong.
The former Coventry City attacker could make his Premier League debut at Old Trafford of all places. Arsenal travel to Manchester United for their first game of the 2025/26 campaign on Sunday, 17 August. Kickoff is set for 4.30pm BST.
