Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea – Predicted lineup and team news

Tottenham Hotspur host Chelsea today, facing a major challenge to their top-four ambitions.

While Thomas Frank’s side have impressed overall this season, their home form remains a serious problem. In fact, they have won just three of their last 17 league games at their own stadium.

Unfortunately, the visitors are the last team Spurs want to see. Chelsea have dominated this fixture recently, winning ten of the last 13 league meetings. Furthermore, the Blues have won five of their six visits to the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which is more than any other club.

Tottenham team news

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has received a significant triple fitness boost ahead of today’s London derby. First, captain Cristian Romero is available again. He missed the last four matches with an adductor strain. Additionally, full-back Destiny Udogie is in contention for the first time since early October, having recovered from a knee issue. Winger Wilson Odobert has also shaken off the side strain that kept him out of the midweek Carabao Cup tie.

Frank confirmed all three are available for the squad. However, he indicated that he will carefully manage Romero’s match readiness, but stated the defender is fit to be involved. This positive news is tempered by a still-extensive injury list. Indeed, Radu Dragusin, Yves Bissouma, James Maddison, Archie Gray, Dominic Solanke, Dejan Kulusevski, Kota Takai, and Ben Davies all remain unavailable for selection.
