La Liga – Alvaro Morata (106 mins per goal)
Alvaro Morata is producing the best football of his career at Atletico Madrid this season, with the Spanish striker having struck 12 times in La Liga alone.
Morata has averaged a goal every 106 minutes for Diego Simeone’s side in the league and was the joint-leading scorer in the Champions League’s group stage with five in six games.
The 31-year-old has already bettered his total goals from last season in all competitions and is one behind Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham in the race for the Pichichi Trophy as La Liga’s leading scorer.

Morata’s 106 minutes per goal is fractionally ahead of Artem Dovbyk (107 mins per goal). The latter has thrived since signing for surprise league leaders Girona from Dnipro in the summer.
Premier League – Erling Haaland (92.4 minutes per goal)
Erling Haaland has missed more than a month of action for Manchester City with a foot problem but remains the joint-leading scorer in the Premier League this season.
Haaland has hit 14 goals in 15 games for Pep Guardiola’s side, averaging a top-flight goal every 92.4 minutes in 2023/24. The Norwegian is in pursuit of a second successive Premier League Golden Boot, as he looks to become only the seventh player to win back-to-back top scorer accolades.
Haaland scored a record-breaking 36 league goals for the Citizens last season at an average of a goal every 77.19 minutes.
Serie A – Lautaro Martinez (84.6 minutes per goal)
The hunt for Serie A’s leading scorer accolade is fast becoming a one-horse race, with Lautaro Martinez eight goals clear of nearest challenger Olivier Giroud after a blistering start to the campaign.
Martinez has scored 18 goals in 18 appearances to fire Inter Milan to the top of the table, with the 26-year-old having breached 20+ goals in all competitions for the fourth time in five seasons.
After a runners-up finish to Victor Osimhen in the running for the Capocannoniere award last season, Martinez will be aiming to finish as the league’s leading scorer for the first time in 2023/24.

The World Cup winner could become the 10th Argentine to win the Capocannoniere and the fourth to do so this century, after Hernan Crespo, Mauro Icardi (2) and Gonzalo Higuain.
Ligue 1 – Kylian Mbappe (73.9 minutes per goal)
Kylian Mbappe tops Ligue 1 for goals once again with the Paris Saint-Germain superstar on course for a sixth-straight leading scorer award in France.
Mbappe has scored 19 goals in 16 league starts, more than double the haul of Wissam Ben Yedder, who sits second in the standings. A sixth Ligue 1 leading scorer award would set a new outright record for the Frenchman, moving clear of fellow five-time winners Carlos Bianchi, Delio Onnis and Jean-Pierre Papin.
Mbappe’s best-ever season for PSG saw him score 33 goals in 29 league appearances in 2018/19, averaging a goal every 71 minutes. He is not far from matching that pace during the current campaign.
Bundesliga – Serhou Guirassy (62.1 minutes per goal)
Not even Harry Kane can keep pace with Stuttgart sensation Serhou Guirassy this season.
Kane might be the leading scorer in Europe’s top five leagues with 22 league goals for Bayern Munich, but his record of a goal every 64 minutes falls behind Guirassy’s 62-minute ratio.
The Guinea forward has scored a staggering 17 goals in 12 league starts, helping turn Stuttgart from relegation candidates to Champions League contenders. After a modest goal record before this season, the 27-year-old has exploded to become one of the most in-demand forwards in Europe.
Given he has a release clause of just €17.5m (£15m) in his contract, expect offers to arrive before the conclusion of the January transfer window.
