Teddy Sheringham believes West Ham should ‘take the money’ and sell unsettled forward Marko Arnautovic.
The Austria international handed in a transfer request this week amid reported interest from China, with West Ham said to have rejected a bid of £19.7m from an unnamed club.
Arnautovic previously agitated for a lucrative move to China in January, only to sign a contract extension at the London Stadium after the move fell through.
Former Hammers striker Sheringham believes the club should ‘take the money’ and ‘move on’ from the 30-year-old, with the wantaway forward seemingly desperate to leave the club this summer.
“It all depends on Marko’s attitude,” Sheringham told talkSPORT.
“Does he want to leave? Is he seeing himself going to China? Does he want to play for West Ham on the money he’s on? Is he going keep constantly having his head turned? I don’t know.
“You’ve got to ask him that question – Do you want to stay? Do you want to play for us?
“If not, let’s take the money, get him out and we’ll move on.”
