Rosenior hopes Ligue 1 experience can boost Chelsea ahead of PSG tie

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior is relishing the chance to take on old rivals Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

The West Londoners will lock horns with the European champions in the Round of 16, following Friday’s draw. For Rosenior, it’s a familiar opponent having managed in French football at Strasbourg.

Discussing the draw, Rosenior said the match up with PSG is the type of tie ‘you live for’ and hopes his experience of playing against the Parisians can boost Chelsea’s hopes.

The clash is also a rematch of the summer’s Club World Cup final in New Jersey. Cole Palmer scored twice as Chelsea upset the Champions League holders with a 3-0 win at MetLife Stadium.

“So excited. PSG are a fantastic team,” Rosenior told the media on Friday, ahead of facing Arsenal in the Premier League this weekend.

“I have experience of playing against them in France. I have always admired them. Luis Enrique has done an incredible job.

“These are the games you live for, games that you come into football for. It’s going to be a great tie. But we’ve got another three games before that, that I need to focus on.”
