Wayne Rooney has said summer signing Bryan Mbeumo ‘belongs’ at Manchester United.
Mbeumo impressed as Manchester United beat Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday, scoring twice as Ruben Amorim’s side secured a third straight league win.
The Cameroon international has been directly involved in more goals (5) than any other teammate this season. United signed Mbeumo from Brentford for a fee of £70m in the summer, following a campaign that saw the 26-year-old score 20 league goals last season.

His immediate impact has been a big boost to Ruben Amorim, whose side are up to fifth in the Premier League table.
Rooney has been impressed by Mbeumo and believes the winger has all the attributes to shine at Old Trafford.
Rooney: Mbeumo made for Manchester United
“His energy, his work-rate, his desire, is what you need to be a United player. I did say that I was a little bit unsure, but I think what he’s shown is he belongs there,” the former United captain told The Wayne Rooney show.
“He’s been consistent with his performances, I think that’s the main thing. If you’re consistently getting into the right positions, and getting chances, you will score 20 goals a season.”
