Sean Dyche takes charge of his first home league game as Nottingham Forest manager today, facing a significant challenge against an in-form Manchester United.
Indeed, Forest are in a dismal run of form. Alarmingly, they have lost their last four league games in a row without scoring a single goal. Consequently, the new manager will be demanding a strong response from his players. The Tricky Trees are currently winless in their last seven league games.
However, they can draw a small amount of confidence from their recent history against United. Notably, Forest famously completed the league double over Manchester United last season. A repeat of that success is desperately needed to kickstart Dyche’s reign and pull the team out of the relegation zone.
Nottingham Forest team news
Sean Dyche will be without at least five first-team players for his first home league match. First, he confirmed that striker Chris Wood is unavailable as he continues his recovery from a knee injury, though he may return for the following game.
The team is also dealing with other significant absences. For instance, goalkeeper Angus Gunn is sidelined with a knee ligament injury. This means Matz Sels will continue in goal. Furthermore, the hosts will be without the services of Oleksandr Zinchenko, Dilane Bakwa, and long-term absentee Ola Aina. The club does not expect Aina to return from a hamstring injury until the new year.
