Nottingham Forest have sacked head coach Ange Postecoglou following the club’s 3-0 defeat to Chelsea at the City Ground.
The Australian has been dismissed after just over a month in charge, having failed to win any of his eight games. The decision comes following a disappointing defeat to Chelsea at home, one that leaves Forest hovering precariously above the Premier League relegation places.
Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect.

Forest arguably edged a goalless first half, as Postecoglou’s midfield dominated against a Chelsea side shorn of several key names. However, the home side collapsed after the break, conceding twice in quick succession to hand Chelsea an unassailable lead.
Improved by a triple change at the break, Chelsea took control. Four minutes after the restart, Josh Acheampong opened the scoring with his first goal for Chelsea, as the 19-year-old met Pedro Neto’s floated cross to head home.
The lead was doubled just three minutes later. Neto’s free-kick found a route past Matz Sels, who will have been disappointed not to keep out the effort.
Forest huffed in pursuit of a route back into the game but were unable to find a way past the Chelsea resistance. Neco Williams blazed a glorious chance over the bar, while substitute Igor Jesus crashed a header against the woodwork.
Chelsea sealed the win on 82 minutes, when Reece James blasted in after Sels had made a mess of a set-piece delivery. Malo Gusto’s needless red card late on was a blemish for the Blues, but it’s Forest who are under real pressure.
Postecoglou was appointed just 39 days ago, but has failed to win in eight games. Forest have lost their last three in the Premier League without scoring a goal.
