Fulham secured wins over Bristol City and Cambridge in the earlier rounds, before squeeing past Wycombe Wanderers on penalties. The Cottagers are targeting a first-ever major trophy in this season’s competition.
Newcastle team news
Yoane Wissa could make his full debut for Newcastle tonight. The summer signing from Brentford has recently returned from injury and featured from the bench at the weekend. Wissa has not been included in the DR Congo squad for the Africa Cup of Nations, due to his lack of fitness.
Wissa’s return offers an alternative to Nick Woltemade, who has shouldered the goalscoring burden this season.
In terms of injuries, Dan Burn is facing a lengthy spell out. The towering defender sustained a punctured lung and fractured rib in the Tyne-Wear Derby defeat at Sunderland. He has joined Kieran Trippier, Nick Pope and William Osula in the treatment room.
Newcastle Predicted Lineup
Newcastle predicted XI: Ramsdale; Livramento, Schar, Thiaw, Hall; Miley, Guimaraes, Joelinton; Murphy, Wissa, Barnes.
