Manchester United have started the club’s summer overhaul by agreeing a deal to sell goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.
The Turkey international has made just 10 league appearances since joining the Red Devils from Fenerbahce in 2024, serving as a back-up option to Andre Onana and latterly Senne Lammens.
United are now prepared to let the 27-year-old leave and have reportedly reached an agreement with Besiktas over a deal. The Turkish team have agreed a fee of €5m (£4.3m) with Manchester United for the shot-stopper, according to Fanatik.Â
The exit of Bayindir would leave United requiring competition and cover for Lammens, who has impressed in his debut season at Old Trafford.
Andre Onana’s future remains up in the air with the Cameroonian currently on loan at Trabzonspor in Turkey.
Despite reports that the 29-year-old is keen to fight for his place under United’s next manager, the club’s preference is understood to be a permanent sale. Onana struggled to live up to expectations after joining from Inter Milan in a £43.8m deal in 2023.
Another option is Radek Vitek, who is currently on loan at Bristol City. The 22-year-old has caught the eye in the Championship and could be promoted to the first-team squad next season.
