Manchester United have initiated talks with Royal Antwerp over a deal to sign goalkeeper Senne Lammens.
Ruben Amorim wants to bring in a new goalkeeper with Andre Onana sidelined for the pre-season campaign with a hamstring injury. Lammens is viewed as an option who can replace and eventually succeed Onana, following an outstanding season in Belgium.

The 23-year-old ended the 2024/25 campaign with more saves (177) and expected goals prevented (16.47) than any other goalkeeper in world football. He was named as Antwerp’s Player of the Season for his performances.
United’s interest dates back to January and the Red Devils have now initiated talks, according to journalist Alex Crook. The move for Lammens comes after a decision to pause the club’s pursuit of Emiliano Martinez.
United held talks with Martinez’s representatives last month over a potential deal to sign the Aston Villa goalkeeper.
However, Onana’s injury has blocked a potential exit for the Cameroonian and will prevent the acquisition of a high-profile number one. Saudi Pro League sides had expressed interest in Onana before his hamstring issue.
Lammens is viewed as a more cost-effective and long-term option. The 6ft 4in shot-stopper, who earned a Belgium call-up in March, is valued at around £17m.
