Manchester City vs Everton – Predicted lineup and team news

Manchester City welcome Everton to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. They will be looking to extend their seven-match unbeaten run and continue their climb up the Premier League table.

Pep Guardiola’s side have been the most potent team in the division during 2025, topping the charts for both points-per-game and goals scored. The manager’s main challenge, however, will be coping without his most important player.

The absence of Rodri through injury is a massive blow, as City’s points-per-game average drops significantly without the Spaniard. Therefore, the team will need a controlled performance to overcome his absence and secure another vital home win.

Manchester City team news

Pep Guardiola is facing a major setback with the confirmation that key midfielder Rodri will miss out due to a thigh injury. The 2024 Ballon d’Or winner’s absence will almost certainly hand a starting opportunity to Nico González. City’s absentee list also includes defenders Abdukodir Khusanov and Rayan Aït-Nouri, who remain sidelined.

Despite those injuries, there is positive news elsewhere. John Stones has returned from international duty with England in full health. The manager’s attacking options are also strengthened by the return of both Omar Marmoush and Rayan Cherki. Erling Haaland is expected to lead the line as he hunts his tenth league goal of the season.
