Man City vow to ‘keep the pressure on’ Arsenal following West Ham win

Man City star Tijani Reijnders says the club “have to keep the pressure” on Arsenal in the Premier League title race after beating West Ham United on Saturday.

City moved ahead of the Gunners into first place in the table with a 3-0 home win, although the north London outfit could return to the top with a win over Everton this evening.

Reijnders scored his first goal at the Etihad Stadium either side of an Erling Haaland brace to maintain a seven-game winning streak in all competitions.

“Feels good to finally score at home,” he told Sky Sports. “I’ve waited a long time for it, today was the day. Happy to win the game as well.”

The Dutch midfielder linked up brilliantly with Haaland in a crowded West Ham box as the Norwegian delivered a lovely assist for the goal.

“A good assist, he got the ball from [Rayan] Cherki and had to think fast to pass it to me then I could shoot it in.”

On the title race with Arsenal, Reijnders added: “We had to keep confidence and you want to win every game but with the right confidence and mentality, you can do it. It shows how much quality we have and how much we have grown as a team. It’s a good job from us and we have to keep going.

“We have to see. We will keep the pressure on them [Arsenal]. They are above us, not now but before, we have to keep the pressure on.

“We all have to do that. We have to show each game that we have the quality and play without fear. We did that very well today.”
