Luis Enrique ready to ‘snub’ Manchester United interest

Luis Enrique is ready to snub Manchester United and sign a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Enrique is contract at PSG until 2027 and the European champions are keen to agree a renewal with the Spaniard.

The 55-year-old has been in charge of PSG since 2023 and last season led the Parisians to quadruple success. That triumph included a maiden Champions League crown for the French club, securing with a record-breaking 5-0 win over Inter Milan in the final.

Premier League clubs are paying attention to Enrique’s situation as he approaches the final season of his deal.

Manchester United have made him a top target as the club consider permanent successors to Ruben Amorim. Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked, as Thomas Frank struggles for results in North London.

However, The Mirror are reporting that Enrique is ‘unconvinced by the project’ at Manchester United, while he would want any new side to be competing in the Champions League, if he were to leave PSG. The Red Devils are currently fourth in the table and chasing a place in next season’s competition.

Michael Carrick is currently in interim charge of Manchester United and oversaw a fourth consecutive league win against Spurs on Saturday. It’s the first time since February 2024 that United have won four successive games in the Premier League.
