Liverpool host Crystal Palace at Anfield in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup this evening.
Arne Slot’s side will want to use cup competition as a route back to form, following a disappointing period in the Premier League.
The Reds take on a Crystal Palace side keen for more silverware success, after winning the FA Cup last season. That triumph was the first trophy in the club’s entire history.
Liverpool vs Crystal Palace – Match Preview and Team News

Liverpool team news
Curtis Jones is a doubt after the midfielder was substituted at Brentford. Jones’ absence would increase the issues for Arne Slot, with Ryan Gravenberch also on the sidelines,
Alisson Becker and Jeremie Frimpong are still missing due to hamstring issues, while Giovanni Leoni is a long-term absentee after suffering an ACL injury on his debut for the Reds earlier in this competition. Alexander Isak did not play at Brentford as he battles with a persistent groin injury.
Third-choice goalkeeper Freddie Woodman could debut in a shock move, while forgotten figure Calvin Ramsay is an option at right-back. Ramsay last featured for Liverpool in November 2022, with recent seasons spent injured and out on loan.
Crystal Palace team news
Oliver Glasner has been dealt a blow with Chris Richards absent for the Eagles. The USMNT defender has a calf problem and has been ruled out of the trip to Anfield. Deputising at centre-back could be former Liverpool man Nathaniel Clyne. Clyne made 103 appearances for the Reds during a five-year spell.
Elsewhere, Eddie Nketiah could be handed a rare start. The forward scored the last-gasp winner when the sides met in the Premier League last month.
Form
Liverpool
Recent weeks have been a disaster for Liverpool, who have lost four consecutive games in the Premier League. Arne Slot’s side are the first team in Premier League history to open the season with five consecutive wins and then lose their next four. It’s also just the third time a reigning champion has lost four on the bounce in the Premier League. Just last month, Liverpool lost at Crystal Palace in league action, the first of their four-loss streak.
Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace come into this game in disappointing form. The Eagles are winless in four games, losing three times, after a 1-0 defeat at Arsenal at the weekend. That result followed a shock setback against AEK Larnaca at Selhurst Park in the Europa League.
Predicted lineups
Liverpool possible starting XI: Mamardashvili; Ramsay, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Endo, Mac Allister; Chiesa, Szoboszlai, Ngumoha; Ekitike.
Crystal Palace possible starting XI: Benitez; Canvot, Lacroix, Guehi; Clyne, Lerma, Hughes, Sosa; Esse, Devenny; Nketiah.
