Arne Slot has confirmed that Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker will not play against Manchester United this weekend.
Liverpool take on their fierce rivals in the Premier League on Sunday, aiming to bounce back from three consecutive losses before the international break.
However, the Reds will again be without the services of Alisson, with the 32-year-old ruled out with a hamstring injury.
The Brazilian was injured during the Champions League defeat to Galatasaray on September 30th and has not yet recovered.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Slot confirmed Alisson’s absence and also ruled the goalkeeper out of Wednesday’s trip to face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League.
“He will not play and also not next week,” the Dutchman said.
“It’s so difficult to say [when he will return] because the end phase of rehab can give positives and negatives, but he will not play this weekend or next week.”
Giorgi Mamardashvili will continue in goal for the champions after starting the 2-1 defeat at Chelsea last time out.
