Liverpool look set to be without two key players for Saturday’s trip to Brentford after both Alexander Isak and Jeremie Frimpong sustained injuries in midweek.Â
The Reds ended a four-game losing streak on Wednesday as they hammered Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 in the UEFA Champions League.
Five different players got on the scoresheet in a much needed boost for the team, but victory came at a cost for Arne Slot.
The Dutchman revealed that Isak hurt his groin in the opening half, meaning he had to be replaced at the interval by Federico Chiesa.
Frimpong, meanwhile, will be sidelined for a “few weeks” after he was forced off the pitch with a hamstring injury in the 19th minute of the match.

Slot confirmed Isak’s injury when speaking to TNT Sports about the Sweden striker and Hugo Ekitike starting together for the first time.
“Hugo had a big chance and scored,” he said. “Alex got a few, unfortunately he didn’t score yet, but he had to go off at half time because he felt his groin a little bit.
“That’s a pity. I’ve said many times, it’s such a difficult balance to find with a player that missed three months. You bring him slowly, people sometimes argue with you, why you cannot play him longer or more often.
“Now we’ve played him for the second time in three days and he has had to go off. It’s not an easy balance to find if a player has been out for so long.”
