Arne Slot has confirmed that Alexander Isak will miss at least ‘two months’ after suffering a fractured fibula at Tottenham on Saturday.
Isak suffered the injury while scoring in Liverpool’s 2-1 win in North London. He was substituted in the immediate aftermath and underwent surgery on Monday.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s clash with Wolves in the Premier League, Slot confirmed the Swedish striker will be out until March at the earliest.
“It’s going to be a long injury, for a couple of months,” said Slot at his pre-match press conference.
“It’s a big, big, disappointment for him and, as a result, for us.”
Alexander Isak today successfully underwent surgery on the injury he sustained on Saturday.

The Liverpool manager was also critical of Spurs defender Micky van de Ven, who caused Isak’s injury as he attempted to block the goalscorer’s effort. Slot deemed the tackle ‘reckless’ and said an injury was always probable.
“This was for me a reckless challenge,” he added.
“I’ve said a lot about the the tackle of Xavi Simons, which for me was completely unintentional. I don’t think you will ever get an injury out of a tackle like that.
“The tackle of Van de Ven – if you make that tackle 10 times – I think 10 times there is a serious chance that a player gets a serious injury.”
