Vincent Kompany has said Michael Olise’s obsession with detail has made him ‘one of the best players in the world’.
Olise produced an exceptional performance as Bayern Munich thrashed Atalanta 6-1 on Tuesday night to take control of their Champions League last-16 tie.
The Frenchman scored twice and created another in Bergamo to continue his outstanding season. Olise has 36 goals and assists in all competitions this season, with his displays having lifted the winger into the Ballon d’Or conversation.
Bayern boss Kompany praised the mentality of Olise and said his ‘obsession’ to get better is comparable to former Manchester City teammate Kevin De Bruyne.
“Michael Olise came here with a mentality that gives him the chance to be one of the best players in the world.

“I don’t really want to compare players but I played with Kevin De Bruyne and was lucky to watch him come through as a young player then become a superstar. He had that obsession for detail, Michael Olise has that as well.”
