Juventus have made formal contact with Liverpool about a deal to re-sign Federico Chiesa this month.Â
The Italian side want to bring in a winger in the January transfer window and Chiesa has emerged as a viable option. Chiesa has struggled to nail down a regular role since joining Liverpool in a £10m deal 2024.
The 28-year-old has started just two Premier League games in his 18 months at Anfield. Juventus are now ready to offer the out-of-favour winger an exit route, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Bianconeri have made contact with Liverpool to discuss the conditions of a potential deal, with Chiesa understood to be open to a return to Serie A, as he looks for regular opportunities after a frustrating period in England.
Despite Chiesa’s lack of opportunities, Liverpool may be reluctant to allow him to leave without a replacement. Mohamed Salah’s absence at the Africa Cup of Nations and Alexander Isak’s injury leave the Reds short of options in the final third. Hugo Ekitike also missed Sunday’s draw at Fulham, due to a hamstring strain.
