Inter Milan hosts Arsenal at San Siro on Tuesday night in a high-stakes UEFA Champions League showdown.
The Gunners arrive in Italy aiming to continue their flawless European run this season by making it seven wins from seven against the current Serie A leaders.
This clash brings together the competition’s two standout defences. Arsenal boast the best record in the tournament, having allowed just a single goal in six outings, while Inter ranks second in that category with only four goals conceded over the same number of games.
Domestically, Inter are in excellent form. They are unbeaten in their last nine Serie A fixtures, with their most recent league loss coming in November’s derby, a 1-0 reverse against Milan. Their latest outing produced a 1-0 victory over Udinese on Saturday, a game in which Francesco Pio Esposito’s hold-up play was key in freeing up Lautaro Martínez to threaten in advanced areas.
In Europe, however, Inter’s situation is more precarious: they sit sixth in the Champions League table with 12 points from six matches, having lost their two most recent fixtures in the competition by Liverpool and Atlético Madrid. Defeat here would almost certainly see them drop out of the eight.

The Nerazzurri are also dealing with several important absences. Hakan Çalhanoğlu remains sidelined with a calf issue and is not expected back until mid-February, while Denzel Dumfries, who underwent ankle surgery in mid-December, is likely to be out until around mid-March.
Tomás Palacios is still working his way back from a thigh problem, and goalkeepers Josep Martínez and Raffaele Di Gennaro are also unavailable. Even with these injuries, Inter’s league campaign has been impressive, and they currently lead Serie A by three points ahead of city rivals AC Milan.
