Mohamed Salah might not have kicked a ball during Liverpool’s draw at Leeds this weekend, but the post-game talk certainly centres around one man.
After a third consecutive game on the bench, Salah shocked the mixed zone with his interview. In addition to suggesting the upcoming game with Brighton could be his last at Liverpool, Salah’s revelation included discussing a broken relationship with Arne Slot and accusing the club of ‘throwing him under the bus’ amid poor results.
Quite the lot to digest.
“I think it is very clear that someone wanted me to get all of the blame. I said many times before that I had a good relationship with the manager, and all of a sudden we don’t have any relationship,” he said.
“I don’t know why but it seems to me, how I see it, that someone doesn’t want me in the club. It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus. That is how I am feeling. I think it is very clear that someone wanted me to get all of the blame.”
Here’s how the internet reacted to Salah’s stunning comments.

Oh @mosalah 🫣 I can imagine how you feel. You’ve carried this team for a long time and won everything there is to win. But this is a team game and you simply can’t publicly say what you’ve said. You’re going to afcon in a week. Surely you bite your lip, enjoy representing your…

I’m sorry, Mohamed Salah has far more credit in the bank than Slot.

As great as he has been for the club, Salah has just thrown Liverpool under the bus.

It is possible for two things to be true at the same time: Mo Salah is a Liverpool legend whose greatness will endure and who will be mentioned in the same breath as Ian Rush and Roger Hunt. Mo Salah has also reacted to being dropped for a couple of games like a spoiled child.
