Oliver Glasner does not think Marc Guehi will leave Crystal Palace to join Liverpool or Manchester City in the January transfer window.
The centre-back, who nearly joined the Reds on Deadline Day last summer, has entered the final six months of his contract, meaning he can leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Liverpool remain interested in signing the Palace captain, while City are considering an approach this month after Josko Gvardiol fractured his leg.
Neither club has made a final decision on whether to make a move for Guehi, but Glasner believes the defender will see out the rest of the season at Selhurst Park.
Glasner makes Guehi transfer prediction amid Liverpool and City links
“I think Marc will stay but if Marc says ‘I want to leave’, and a club pays massive money – with five months left of a contract – every player will leave if you’re playing for a club like Crystal Palace,” the Austrian told Sky Sports.
“I’m pretty sure our chairman will ask for a very high price for him and then let’s see. I don’t know if Marc wants to leave.
“Right now, when I see him playing, when I see him training, when I see his commitment and when we are talking quite often together, then I think the fans can be really be calm but you never know what will happen in football.”
