Spurs captain Cristian Romero admitted that defeat to West Ham United on Saturday was “a disaster” for the club – one that moves Thomas Frank closer to the exit door.Â
The centre-back cancelled out Crysencio Summerville’s opener at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but Callum Wilson popped up with a winner in stoppage time to end the Hammers’ ten-game winless streak.
Frank is under severe pressure in the dugout having overseen just three wins since the start of December, leaving his side 14th in the table.
The Lilywhites are now winless in their last four Premier League matches and have lost three successive games in all competitions.
‘Disastrous’ Spurs defeat leaves Thomas Frank on the brink
“In this moment we need to stay together, work hard, come back tomorrow to the training ground. It’s a disaster in this moment for us,” Romero said after the full-time whistle.
“Thank you to the fans for always staying with us. Tomorrow we will train in silence, work hard again, midweek we have another big match.
“At this moment this is a disaster for us. We played sometimes good, sometimes bad. We must work hard and go again.
“Its’ a difficult moment for us. We are not the best on the pitch.”
