South London meets North London this weekend as Crystal Palace host Tottenham at Selhurst Park.
The Eagles are still searching for their first win in the Premier League this season after a torrid start has left them wallowing in 18th position.
Spurs have entered a rich vein of form that has seen them win seven out of their last eight matches in all competitions, including their 1-0 over AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League during the week.
Coincidentally, this game falls on the exact same day as last season’s fixture, when Spurs won 2-1 at Selhurst Park.
Ange Postecoglou announced in his pre-match press conference that Heung-min Son and Djed Spence remain unavailable, with the Spurs captain suffering a reoccurrence of a hamstring injury.
The Australian manager hinted that 17-year old Mikey Moore could be line for a maiden Premier League start after his performance against AZ Alkmaar drew comparisons to Neymar from teammate James Maddison.
Palace have no fresh injury concerns following their loss on Monday night at Nottingham Forest but the likes of Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure remain out.
The latter has joined in on one training session this week but Sunday’s game comes too soon. Oliver Glasner and his coaching staff are deliberating whether to send Adam Wharton for surgery amid his battles with fitness problems this campaign.
Crystal Palace vs Tottenham – Match preview and team news
Form
Crystal Palace: WDLLL
The Eagles are in desperate need of a positive result after three straight losses. Narrow defeats to Everton and Liverpool preceded their lacklustre display against Nottingham Forest.
Defensively, Oliver Glasner’s side looked vulnerable but the decisive goal was avoidable, as Chris Wood’s tame effort trickled through the grasp of goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

Prior to the season’s curtain raiser many people had touted Palace to challenge for the European spots, but they have lacked the intensity and competitiveness of last season’s run-in.
Their season-ending surge saw them win six out of their last seven league games in 2023/24 but they now find themselves winless in eight matches.
Tottenham: WWLWW
Spurs have put their shaky start to the campaign behind them as they aim to make it eight wins from their last nine matches this weekend.
In Europe, Tottenham have claimed maximum points from their three games to sweep aside Qarabag, Ferencvaros and AZ Alkmaar.
In the Premier League, only Manchester City have scored more goals (20) than Spurs (18), though the former have played a game more.

With the goals flowing, Postecoglou will be trying to implement a bit more solidity at the back as the Lilywhites have only kept four clean sheets in England’s top-flight this calendar year.
They will be setting their sights on successive London Derby victories on Sunday afternoon after conquering West Ham last weekend.
Last Meeting: Tottenham 3-1 Crystal Palace, Premier League, 2nd March 2024.
An eleven-minute goal frenzy saw Tottenham rescue all three points over the Eagles the last time the two sides met.
Eberechi Eze had put the visitors in front just shy of the hour mark as he arrowed a sublime free-kick past Guglielmo Vicario.
Brennan Johnson was introduced into proceedings shortly after the opener and that alteration paid dividends.
Johnson harried Joachim Andersen to dispossess the Dane before firing a dangerous cross towards the back post where Timo Werner was on hand to net Spurs’ equaliser and his first goal in Lilywhite.
The momentum shifted and the crowd were urging the hosts on to find a winner. The energy around the stadium increased as Cristian Romero found himself as the most advanced player.
Maddison poked a looping cross into the area and the Argentine defender deftly headed the ball past Sam Johnstone to turn the score around.
Ange Postecoglou’s side then wrapped up the victory in the closing stages as captain Heung-min Son raced clear of the Palace backline before confidently finishing past Johnstone.
