Chris Wood named Premier League Player of the Month

Nottingham Forest forward Chris Wood has been named Premier League Player of the Month for October.

Wood has been recognised after a brilliant run of form for Forest, with the 32-year-old having scored four goals in three appearances for Nuno Espirito Santo’s high-flying side last month.

The forward international has made history as the first Nottingham Forest player to win the Premier League’s Player of the Month award, while he’s also the first New Zealander to take the prize.

Wood has scored eight goals in 10 league appearances for Forest this season, with only Manchester City’s Erling Haaland having netted more. His goals have helped propel Forest to third place in the Premier League table, ahead of this weekend’s clash with Newcastle United at the City Ground.

“I’m over the moon with it. It’s a fantastic achievement,” Wood said, as per the Premier League’s official website.

“It’s a credit to all of us and how the team’s working. I couldn’t have done it without them. They supply me with all the chances, so it’s nice that I’ve been able to tuck them away for them.”
