Chelsea have been handed an injury boost after Liam Delap rejoined full first-team training.
Delap has not featured since sustaining a hamstring injury against Fulham in August. the summer signing will not be included in the squad to face Sunderland tomorrow, but is in contention for the midweek EFL Cup clash against Wolves.
Maresca gives injury update on Chelsea forward Delap
Enzo Maresca confirmed the news at his pre-match press conference on Friday: “We don’t have any new injuries. Liam took part in the session with the team yesterday for the first time. He is not going to be available for tomorrow’s game but the next one (Wolves in the cup), yes.”
Marc Guiu could be handed a chance for Chelsea against his former club. The 19-year-old joined Sunderland on loan in the summer, but was recalled before the end of the transfer window following Delap’s injury.
The Spanish striker scored in the midweek win over Ajax in the Champions League.
