Celtic vs Dundee FC – Predicted lineup and team news

Celtic and Dundee FC meet in the Scottish Cup fifth round on Saturday evening, with both top-flight clubs targeting a place in the quarter-finals at Celtic Park.

The tie is one of two all-Premiership clashes in the last 16 and forms part of a packed Scottish Cup schedule that also includes Aberdeen’s meeting with Motherwell and Rangers’ home tie against Stranraer.

Celtic team news

Celtic head into the contest in good shape under Martin O’Neill’s second stint in charge, although the manager is still having to cope without several players.

Alistair Johnston, Callum Osmand, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota and Marcelo Saracchi are all still unavailable and are not expected to play any part against Dundee.

Carter-Vickers has been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign, while Osmand and Johnston continue lengthy recoveries from hamstring problems, and Jota is still working his way back after a serious cruciate ligament injury.

Saracchi is nearing fitness again following his own hamstring setback, but the Uruguayan left-back is unlikely to be risked here, with Kieran Tierney set to continue on the left of the defence.

Viljami Sinisalo started the fourth-round victory over Auchinleck Talbot and is in line to retain his place between the posts, with a likely back four of Anthony Ralston, Dane Murray, Liam Scales and Tierney in front of him.

In attack, Benjamin Nygren’s recent purple patch makes him one to watch, as he has found the net in each of his last three Celtic outings and will again be a major danger at Celtic Park.

Celtic predicted lineup

Possible Celtic starting XI: Sinisalo; Ralston, Murray, Scales, Tierney; Hyun-Jun, Bernardo, McGregor, Tounekti; Nygren, Iheanacho

When will the match kick off?

The match will kick off at 5:30pm BST on Saturday, 7th February.
