Burnley host Newcastle United in the Premier League tonight looking for much-needed points.
The Clarets are 19th in the table and six points from safety. Scott Parker’s side have earned credible draws with Bournemouth and Everton in their last two, though those stalemates must turn into wins soon if Burnley are to secure another season of top-flight football. Burnley have not won in the league since beating Wolves on October 26th, marking a nine-game winless run.
This evening, Burnley host a Newcastle side who have struggled for inconsistency. The Magpies have been particularly poor on the road, winning just once in nine Premier League away games this season. Just three teams have taken fewer away points.
Burnley team news
Both teams are short of defensive options ahead of the clash. Parker is without Axel Tuanzebe, Jordan Beyer and Connor Roberts, while neither Maxim Esteve or Joe Worrall are likely to return from injury.
Furthermore, Josh Cullen has been ruled out with a knee injury. The Irish midfielder picked up the issue against Everton and is set to be replaced by Florentino Luis.
Martin Dubravka will face his former side after an excellent performance against Everton.
