Manchester United midfielder not interested in Saudi transfer

Bruno Fernandes is not interested in leaving Manchester United for Saudi Arabia.

Fernandes was subject of interest from the Saudi Pro League in the summer, turning down approaches from Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad to commit his future to the club. Both sides were reportedly prepared to pay around £100m to sign the midfielder.

Interest from the Middle East remains in the Manchester United captain, who has been used in an unfavored deeper role under Ruben Amorim this season.

However, the BBC are reporting that the 31-year-old has no interest in leaving Europe’s top five leagues at this stage in his career. Fernandes remains hugely influential at Old Trafford. He leads the Premier League for chances created (19) during the 2025/26 season so far.

The Portugal international has made 297 appearances for the Red Devils since joining from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020. He scored his 100th goal for the club in the recent win over Chelsea.

Last season, he was named Manchester United Player of the Season for a fourth time. That accolade equalled a club record, alongside David de Gea and Cristiano Ronaldo.
