Borussia Dortmund XI vs Tottenham – Predicted lineup and team news

Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur go head-to-head in the UEFA Champions League league phase on Tuesday.

Both sides sit on 11 points from six matches and are direct rivals for a top-eight finish that would secure automatic qualification for the round of 16.

Dortmund arrive unbeaten in seven matches in all competitions, having edged St Pauli 3-2 at the weekend thanks to a last-minute Emre Can penalty, leaving the second in the Bundesliga behind runaway leaders Bayern Munich.

In the Champions League, Niko Kovac’s side are joint-leading scorers with 19 goals in six games but have also conceded 13, underlining their high-risk, high-reward style that has produced a string of entertaining, free-scoring contests.

Borussia Dortmund team news

Dortmund travel to London in far better shape fitness-wise, though they are missing a couple of important squad players. Centre-back Aaron Anselmino (hamstring) and midfielder Marcel Sabitzer (calf) are both ruled out, while left-sided defender Ramy Bensebaini is a doubt after illness. There are no more fresh injury concerns for manager Niko Kovac.

Fabio Silva has recently displaced Serhou Guirassy up front and is tipped to keep his place after a strong run of form, supported by Julian Brandt and Karim Adeyemi in attack.
