Bayern Munich XI vs Borussia Dortmund – Predicted lineup and team news

Bayern Munich face Borussia Dortmund in a top-of-the-table clash at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday, defending their position at the top of the Bundesliga and their eight‑point cushion over Dortmund.

Vincent Kompany’s team warmed up with a 3–2 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend. Harry Kane struck twice to take his league tally to 28 goals, already bettering the 26 he scored in the whole of the 2024/25 season.

Bayern are in outstanding form away from home as well, having put together a run of 20 Bundesliga away matches without defeat across the last two seasons (nine wins and two draws this campaign), which underlines why they are seen as the division’s strongest travelling side.

Bayern Munich team news

On the injury front, Alphonso Davies (hamstring) and young defender Cassiano Kiala (knee) are both unavailable, and Hiroki Ito is also expected to miss out after suffering a thigh injury in training.

There is uncertainty in goal, too: Manuel Neuer tore a calf muscle against Werder Bremen and later had to cut short a training session with more discomfort, so Jonas Urbig is expected to continue in goal if Neuer is not cleared, even though both the coach and the keeper are pushing for a late fitness call.

Given those issues, Bayern are likely to line up with Urbig in goal, a back four of Konrad Laimer, Dayot Upamecano, Jonathan Tah and Josip Stanisic, a midfield pairing of Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlovic, and an attacking band of Michael Olise, Jamal Musiala and Luis Diaz behind centre‑forward Harry Kane.

Bayern Munich predicted lineup

Possible Bayern Munich starting XI: Urbig; Laimer, Upamecano, Tah, Stanisic; Kimmich, Pavlovic; Olise, Musiala, Diaz; Kane.

When will the match kick off?

The match will kick off at 5:30pm BST on Saturday, 28th February.
