Bayern Munich have joined the litany of clubs who have enquired about signing Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi in the summer transfer window.Â
The centre-back’s future is a source of much speculation as he enters the final five months of his contract with the Eagles.
Guehi could be sold this month, although it appears highly likely he will leave on a free transfer at the end of this season. He can agree a pre-contract with a club abroad from now.
Liverpool are expected to return for him after failing to land him on Deadline Day, Man City are reportedly considering a bid after Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias sustained injuries in recent weeks, and Arsenal are also said to be interested.
Bayern have been linked with Guehi in the time since his failed move to Anfield, but their interest now appears to have been made official.
Bayern Munich make Marc Guehi transfer enquiry
According to Sky Sport Deutschland, the club’s sporting director, Max Eberl, has been making calls in recent days to convince the England international to join the Bavarian outfit this summer.
The club are ramping up their pursuit after Eberl reportedly met with Guehi’s agent at Bayern’s training ground in recent weeks.
Meanwhile, Ben Jacobs reports that Man City are “prepared to make a January bid” for Guehi, but are hoping that Palace lower their £35 million asking price. Palace are open to a deal “on the right terms”, but have set a high asking price due to the need to fund a replacement.
The report adds that Arsenal and Liverpool are “keen on a summer transfer”, while Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid and Inter Milan are among the other clubs to have made an enquiry.
