Barcelona will bid to get their Champions League back on track when Eintracht Frankfurt arrive in Catalonia on Tuesday night.
The Spanish side are 18th in the standings after defeat at Chelsea last time out. Barcelona have won just two of their five games in Europe this season, a contrast to their impressive domestic form. Hansi Flick’s side are four points clear at the top of La Liga, but have ground to make up in Europe.
This week they face a Frankfurt side who have not won in the Champions League since matchday one.
The German side have been vulnerable defensively, conceding more goals in the Bundesliga than any other side, despite sitting seventh in the table. Frankfurt have lost heavily in the Champions League this season, conceding 3+ goals in three of their five fixtures.
Barcelona team news
Barcelona remain without Dani Olmo (shoulder), Marc-Andre ter Stegen (knee) and Gavi (back) respectively. Ronald Araujo, currently on compassionate leave, is suspended after a red card at Chelsea in the club’s previous Champions League fixture
Hansi Flick faces a selection headache regarding who leads the line. Ferran Torres hit a hat-trick in the weekend win over Real Betis and is battling with Robert Lewandowski for a place in the team.
