Barcelona team news
Hansi Flick will make a decision on who leads the line after Ferran Torres hit a hat-trick in the weekend win over Real Betis. The Spaniard has been in fine form this season and could earn the nod over Robert Lewandowski.
Barcelona remain without Dani Olmo due to a shoulder injury, while Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Gavi due to knee and back issues respectively. Ronald Araujo is suspended after a red card at Chelsea but would not feature regardless, with the defender on compassionate leave.
Eintracht Frankfurt team news
Frankfurt face issues in attack with their centre-forward options stretched. Leading scorer Jonathan Burkardt is ruled out, while fellow forward Michy Batshuayi picked up an issue during the weekend loss to RB Leipzig.
There was better news on Can Uzun and Hugo Larsson who both returned from recent injuries and could be recalled to the starting side.
Form
Barcelona
The Spanish champions extended their lead in La Liga to four points at the weekend, after capitalising on a defeat for nearest challengers Real Madrid. Barca came out on top in a thriller at Real Betis, winning 5-3, with Ferran Torres scoring a hat-trick.
The Catalans have won six consecutive games in La Liga but their European form has been patchy. Hansi Flick’s side have seven points from five Champions League games and lost 3-0 at Chelsea last time out.
Eintracht Frankfurt
Currently 28th in the Champions League standings, Eintracht Frankfurt are four games without a win in Europe. Their campaign started in dream fashion after thrashing Galatasaray 5-1 on matchday one, but the German side have since suffered heavy defeats to Atletico Madrid (5-1), Liverpool (5-1) and Atalanta (3-0), alongside a goalless draw with Napoli.
Domestically, Frankfurt are seventh in the Bundesliga and their vulnerable defence was badly exposed again at the weekend. Dino Toppmöller’s side lost 6-0 at RB Leipzig in their most recent outing.
