Barcelona are undecided on a permanent deal for Marcus Rashford despite being ‘happy’ with the forward’s loan spell.
Rashford joined Barcelona from Manchester United on a season-long loan deal in the summer and has impressed in Spanish football. The 27-year-old has six goals and seven assists in just 14 starts across all competitions for the La Liga champions.
Barcelona included an option to sign Rashford permanently in the loan arrangement, for a fee of €30m (£26.2m). Despite his impressive performances, the club are yet to decide whether to pursue that option.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that no decision will be made in the January transfer window with Rashford’s future to be settled at the end of the campaign.
Barcelona value his performances and ability to operate in multiple roles, though the England international’s salary could be problematic.
Rashford agreed to take a reduced salary in order to complete his loan to the Camp Nou last summer, but is on a contract worth around £325,000-a-week at Manchester United.
