Barcelona are interested in signing Pedro Neto from Chelsea with sporting director Deco keen on a raid on his former club.
Neto has been earmarked as an option should Raphinha leave the La Liga champions. Spanish outlet Fichajes have claimed Raphinha could seek a new challenge, in a bid to escape ‘the shadow’ of teammate Lamine Yamal at the Camp Nou.
Raphinha was named La Liga Player of the Season in 2024/25 after scoring 34 goals in all competitions for Barcelona, but finished fifth – behind teammate Yamal – in the Ballon d’Or vote.
Should he depart, Neto is an option for Barcelona, who will target a wide player who is comfortable on either flank.
Deco is understood to be a big admirer of his compatriot and has monitored Neto’s performances at Chelsea.
The Portugal international has started the new season in good form with four goals and two assists in 12 league appearances. He opened the scoring against Burnley at the weekend as Chelsea climbed to second in the Premier League table.
Chelsea currently have no interest in selling Neto, though could consider a lucrative offer. The Blues strengthened their wide roles in the summer with the signings of Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens, while Estevao Willian also linked up with the club in a pre-arranged deal.
