Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang rolled back the years after scoring four goals for Gabon in their World Cup qualifying win over Gambia.
Aubameyang scored all four goals as Gabon kept their World Cup dream alive with a thrilling 4-3 win at The Moi International Sports Centre on Friday.
The veteran took his impressive club form into the break, having netted three goals in five Ligue 1 appearances since returning to Marseille in the summer.
Despite twice leading through goals from the 36-year-old, Gabon fell behind after Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh and a double from Adama Sidibeh turned the game around. However, Aubameyang equalised to complete his hat-trick before firing home a fourth.

His four-goal performance took Aubameyang to seven goals in the 2026 qualifiers. He is Gabon’s all-time leading scorer having netted 39 times in 83 caps.
Gabon are guaranteed a place in the second round of qualification, though could seal automatic entry to the World Cup in their final fixture.
The African nation trail group leaders Ivory Coast by one point with one game to go. Gabon have never previously qualified for the World Cup.
