Arsenal plan move for twin brother of current defender

Arsenal are interested in a deal to sign Feyenoord midfielder Quinten Timber, the twin brother of Gunners defender Jurrien.

Timber’s contract at Feyenoord expires at the end of the current campaign and the 24-year-old will be available to sign as a free agent. Arsenal can make contact with the player’s representatives in January over a pre-contract agreement.

According to CaughtOffside, Arsenal view Timber as an ideal option to add depth to their midfield group. Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster his ranks with further quality, as part of plans for Arsenal to challenge in all four competitions each season.

Timber is ready to leave the Eredivisie for a new challenge, having cemented a reputation as one of the division’s best midfielders.

This season, he ranks in the top 15% of midfielders in the Dutch top-flight for progressive passes, progressive carries, successful take-ons and shot-creating actions.

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly ready to rival Arsenal for his services, while West Ham and Manchester United have tracked his performances this season. Arsenal, however, hope the lure of reuniting with his twin sibling in North London can prove persuasive.
