Arsenal and Tottenham will need to spend £60m to sign Pedro Neto from Wolves this summer, with the latter set to demand a club-record fee for the winger.
Neto looks likely to leave Wolves at the end of the season, though Gary O’Neil’s team will not allow the in-demand star to leave on the cheap.
Big name sales last summer, including Ruben Neves and Matheus Nunes, have put Wolves in a stronger position in terms of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules and, as a result, in a stronger position for negotiations.
Wolves want a fee that eclipses the £53m received from Manchester City for Nunes last summer, with Neto’s asking price set at £60m.
The Evening Standard claim Arsenal and Spurs are leading the chase to sign the Portugal international, who has bounced back from serious injury problems to impress this season.
Liverpool have also been named as potential suitors of the star, as several of the Premier League’s wealthiest clubs consider additions in wide areas this summer.
The 23-year-old has two goals and eight assists in 15 league appearances during the current campaign, with only Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins and Newcastle’s Kieran Trippier (10) having created more goals in the Premier League this season.
